Magic - More than a Black Box
Multiple real-time sensors monitor airborne health hazards to measure air quality, including various particle sizes, carbon dioxide, and volatile organic compounds. Temperature, humidity, and geographic location are also recorded.
Second, by second, data is captured using a smartphone that sends the data to the cloud. A cloud platform analyzes and the information returned to the user indicates changes in air quality that alert the user if health hazards are present. The cloud platform records and maintains the data showing long-term trends in air quality. A user can set goals for air quality monitoring and program for customized feedback.
The VPSi system is small, portable, and affordable technology patented by Purdue University. It can be used as a personal monitor or for area monitoring such as in a home, school, or work, where air quality is a concern.
